TIAAN 3RD IN SOUTH AFRICA!

ATHLETICS: SOUTH AFRICAN SECONDARY SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024

Nine of our athletes represented Mpumalanga at the South African Secondary Schools

Championships which took place from 3 - 6 April 2024 at Dal Josaphat in Paarl.

We are extremely proud of these athletes' performances. Their behaviour on and off the field also distinguished them as worthy ambassadors of HSPR.

Their results were as follows:


Tiaan Korff

U/19 Boys High Jump:

Tiaan ended third in this

event with a height of 1.94 meter, scoring 750 ASA points.

Congratulations, Tiaan. Your hard work and dedication have paid off.


Fisokuhle Shabalala

U/15 Boys 300m Hurdles & 200m:

There were 3 heats in this item.

Fiso came second in his semi-final with 40.01 seconds. He qualified for the final in which he came 5th with a time of 40.33 in a very strong wind (772 ASA Points).

There were 4 heats and Fiso came 5th in his heat, with a time of 24.67.

Mpilwentsha Nkosi

U/17 Boys Relay:

There were 4 heats for this item.

Mpilwentsha ran a 11.44 (721ASA Points), but did not qualify for the semi-finals.

The relay team that he was part of came 4th in the final, with a time of 0:43.08 (484 ASA Points)

Philasande Mathe

U/17 Boys 110m Hurdles:

There were 2 heats in this item.

He came 4th in his heat but unfortunately did not qualify for the final. His time was 15.52 (745 ASA Points)

Samkelo Buthelezi

U/15 Boys 400m:

There were three heats in this item. Samkelo came 7th in his heat, with a time of 0:53.46 (737 ASA Points).

Ziyanda Mashigo

U/15 Boys 800m:

He came 6th in his heat with a time of 2:06.98 (518 ASA Points).


Corrie Kotze

U/15 Girls Discus:

Corrie threw 25.32m (744 ASA Points) but didn't qualify for the final.


Siphokazi Makhaza

U/17 Girls Triple jump:

Siphokazi jumped 09.51m (630 ASA Points) but didn't qualify for the final.


Sithuli Zulu

U/15 Boys 200m:

There were four heats in this item. Sithuli is still U/14 and came 7th in his heat, with a time of 24.73.
